Meet The team at Polar Dental
Dr. Robert Polese, received his BSc and DDS at the University of Toronto.
He is a published author and an active member of the Toronto Implant Study Club and the Ontario Study Club for Osseointegration, Ontario Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Toronto Crown & Bridge Study Club.
Dr. Polese maintains a special interest in both cosmetic and implant dentistry, received his Invisalign Certificate and is very active in the local community.
Dr. Jim Argyropoulos, received his DMD and Masters of Oral Biology at the University of Louisville, and has published papers in the Journal of American Dental Association (JADA) and the ADA.
Voluntarily, he has assisted in coordinating and initiating an on-site dental clinic at Hellenic Home for the Aged / Hellenic Care for Seniors (Toronto) Inc. He uses biocompatible materials, allowing him to provide homeopathic treatment to naturally oriented patients. He is a member of the Canadian & Ontario Dental Associations, along with the American Dental Association, and certified in Lumineers TM BY CERINATE.
Dr. Ari Voudouris, received his DDS at the University of Western Ontario and his honors Bachelors of Science in Pharmacology at the University of Toronto.
In June 2000, he received the Walter P. Teteruck award in fixed prosthodontics (crown & bridge). He is an active member with the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the Toronto Implant Study Club, the Toronto Implant Institute and the American Association of Implant Dentistry and is co-owner of Don Valley Dental Centre.
Dr. Haleh Ashkevari, received her DDS and studied Pharmacology at the University of Toronto. She is certified and has great interest in advanced implant surgery, bone grafting and cosmetic dentistry. Her fellowships include Comprehensive Implant Training, Treatment Planning and Prosthetics, (Advanced) Implant surgery, Bone Grafting Program and Invisalign Certification.
Dr. Ashkevari is a member of both the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations, along with the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Toronto Implant Study Club.
Dr. Marvin Zarnett, received his DDS from the University of Toronto. He has been a staff member at the Mount Sinai Hospital Dental Department. He has also been an instructor in the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting Programs.
Dr. Zarnett is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, Toronto Academy of Dentistry, Crown and Bridge Study Club, the Periodontal Study Club, and Alpha Omega International Fraternity. He has a specific interest in Restorative Dentistry, TMJ Dysfunction and Orofacial Pain. He has lectured at the Ontario Dental Association annual meeting, the Crown and Bridge Study Club, Toronto Academy of Dentistry and Alpha Omega Fraternity.
Dr. Joshua Resnick, received his DMD with honors from Temple University and an Honors Specialist with distinction in Nutrition and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Resnick participated in an externship for Orthodontics, published several articles related to such and computer modeling, and is looking forward to combining orthodontics with smile makeovers where applicable.
Dr. Vanessa Milich, received her Honors B.Sc. and Toxicology specialty from the University of Toronto. Additionally, she completed her DMD from the faculty of Dentistry (in Zagreb, Croatia) and thereafter, successfully completed the Qualifying Dental Program at the University of Toronto.
As a member of the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations, and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Milich provides dental care in all aspects of Dentistry.
Dr. Suzanne Baptista received her DDS from the University of Western Ontario following completion of her BSc in Biochemistry and Economics at McGill University. She has also completed an externship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a one-year Advanced Residency Program in General Dentistry at the State University of New York (Stony Brook).
Aside from private practice, she teaches dental students part-time as a Clinical Demonstrator at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry including crown & bridge, root canal treatment and children's dentistry. Dr. Baptista is fluent in Cantonese, Chinese and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Ontario Dental Association.
Harry Orfanidis received his diploma in Denturism in 1985. He specializes in full and partial dentures, as well as implant retained prosthesis.
Harry enjoys servicing the community at large, and has been providing onsite/visitational services to most of our offices for over 5 years.
Harry was a former full time Professor at George Brown College and is an active member of both the Canadian & Ontario Denturist Associations.
Dr. Dean Liougas received his DDS at Columbia University in New York City, and his Honours BSc at the University of Toronto in high standing, where he majored in Neuroscience and Integrative Biology. He was inducted into the Golden Key Honour Society and received an academic average of 99th percentile on the Dental Aptitude Test. Subsequently , he was an extern at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan, and volunteered for Smile Train Charity and Give Kids A Smile events. He currently is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, and regularly attends continuing education classes.
Dr. Liougas is particularly interested in esthetic work involving veneers and crowns, and has Invisalign certification. He looks forward to perfecting the smile of every patient who he has the pleasure of meeting.
Dr. Lam obtained her doctoral of dental surgery from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. She also obtained her hospital based, 2-year post-graduate General Practice Residency in New York.
She is American, Canadian and Northeast Dental Board certified. She is also invisalign, nitrous oxide and oral sedation certified. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and takes great joy in her profession.
Dr. Ryan Abdool, received his Honors BSc in Human Biology from the University of Toronto. He then completed his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation he received the AAID (American Academy of Implant Dentistry) student award. He subsenquently completed a one year internship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Tufts Medical Center. Whilethere he published several articles relating to oral pathology.
He is a member of the Ontario, American, and South Shore Dental Associations. He enjoys all aspects general dentistry but has a special interest in oral surgery.
